This review is from: Charlene the Star and Bentley Bulldog (Kindle Edition)
This cute story begins with Charlene the Star (a horse) who begins telling the story. She and her friends talk to other animals but not humans. Charlene the Star is preparing for a big jumping competition. She wants to win an award for being the best jumper in the whole state of Kentucky. She notices a bulldog (Bentley) on the sidelines and befriends him. Bentley turns out to be quite the sarcastic bully. He is invited to his first horse show, but Charlene hopes he will have good manners. But will he behave? Will Charlene win the award at her show? You will have to read this story to find out the answers. I recommend this book for introducing talk about what a bully is and how to respond in an uncomfortable situation where bullying is going on.
If you have not read Tails of Sweetbrier, it is a must do! Tails of Sweetbrier is a touching true story of determination about a little girl that was diagnosed with a condition Cerebral Palsy and was told by her doctor that she would never be able to walk. Her father would not accept that diagnosis and instills faith in his little girl, and he set out to teach her to ride horses and felt if she could do that, she would be okay. Loved this book!
