This week we’re celebrating…..

vik - small things 2

As you may know, on Fridays we celebrate things that happened during the week. Special thanks to VikLit, who started this blog. Please stop by, to find out what others are cheering about.

Here’s what we’re happy about this week:

  •  I’ve been chosen to become secretary to Amb. Claire Power Murphy’s Free Online School. It will be an exciting venture, although as usual, I get a bit apprehensive about new things. I will do my best.
  • Two of my wonderfully gifted author friends, Sarah Mazor, and Janice Spina, have released children’s books. Sarah has published The Purim Story and Janice has released, Jerry the Crabby Crayfish. They are both amazing stories and I hope you check them out on You’ll love them.
  • Warmer weather today! The weather is much warmer today, so that’s definitely cause for celebration, although the forecast is for cold again next week. At least we can take a little break from Winter, Yay!

Thank you everyone for stopping by and have a great weekend.

This week we’re celebrating…

vik - small things 2It’s Friday again and that means we find things to celebrate. Here’s what we’re happy about this week:

  •  Only two snow storms this week! We had one small storm this week, which is hardly worth mentioning, but now we have one with 3 stages! Yuck. Still, we’re getting closer to Spring, yay!
  • At least we don’t live in the areas where they never have snow and don’t know how to manage it.
  • There may be an exciting opportunity coming, but I won’t find out about it till after this is posted.
  • Special shout outs to DL Hammonds and Alex Cavanaugh for their blogs that so many of us enjoy(myself included, of course) We are able to help one another and encourage each other, which is so helpful to everyone. Stop by and to check them out!
  • Finally, thank you to all of you who stop by my blog to check out what’s happening here.
  • Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone, I hope lots of romantic surprises come your way

This week we’re celebrating….

vik - small things 2We always celebrate things on Friday, so let’s see what we have to cheer about this week:

Be sure to stop by to see what other people are cheering about!

  •  For those of you who don’t know, my children’s autobiography, Tails of Sweetbrier, won the Silver Medal in the Feathered Quill Writer’s Contest. Of course, we are honored to receive this award. it was the first contest I’ve ever entered.
  • We got about 10 inches of snow, but now our driveway is plowed. The snow is gone now. We’re getting a little tired of it this year. Before our tricky driveway was plowed, my husband got stuck with one wheel of his Subaru over the curb. Even though we have reflectors to help see the edge, it was hard to estimate where it was because of the snow. But both my husband and the car are okay.
  • We are one week closer to Spring, even though it doesn’t seem like that.

The Silver Medal!

I’m honored and pleased to announce that my children’s autobiography, Tails of Sweetbrier, has been chosen as the Silver Medal Winner in the Feathered Quill Writer’s Contest! To find out more about my book, please and/or

It is the greatest pleasure to have here today my dear friend, Deanie H. Dunne, who is a very talented author of children’s books.  Deanie has stopped by before and visited with me and my readers.

1.     Tell us what new book or projects you have.

First of all, thank you so much for inviting me back to chat with you. I love spending time with you. At the present time, my sister/illustrator, Holly Humphrys-Bajaj, is working on illustrations for our new book. She just finished the cover for Charlene the Star and Bentley Bulldog. It’s the third in our series of Charlene the Star books and this time lots of exciting things happen to Charlene and her friends. We are also planning to have the second edition of Charlie the Horse published in paperback very soon.

2.     You were recently interviewed on two radio shows.  Please…
